The Section Energy and Climate aims to join all expertise present in the Dutch physics community in these fields. The goal is to create a capable platform that can provide reliable and balanced information, both within the physics community and to the outside world. The latter may involve for instance schools, policy makers, politicians and the general public. The section organizes regular thematic meetings.
For instance, on 14 November 2013 the conference “Physical aspects of the new IPCC report on climate change” took place. Topic of this conference was the new physics in the most recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Three Dutch scientists involved in drawing up the report discussed its contents. For the program, click here.
